Common Lucid Air Pure Problems

Premature degradation of the Lucid-proprietary 800V battery modules, resulting in significant range loss well below the EPA-estimated figures within the first two years of ownership.
Malfunctioning Surreal Sound Pro audio system where individual speakers cut out intermittently or produce distorted sound, often traced to faulty amplifier wiring harnesses.
Persistent false collision warnings from the DreamDrive sensor suite, particularly the front-facing radar module, triggering phantom braking events at highway speeds.
Defective door handle mechanisms where the flush-mounted electronic door handles fail to present or retract properly, sometimes locking occupants inside the vehicle.
Recurring 12V lithium-ion auxiliary battery failures causing the Lucid UX infotainment system to freeze, lose connectivity, or fail to boot upon vehicle start.

Lucid Air Pure Lemon Law FAQ

How does California Lemon Law apply to my Lucid Air Pure?

Under the Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, if your Air Pure has a substantial defect that Lucid Motors cannot repair after a reasonable number of attempts, you may be entitled to a replacement vehicle or a full refund. The law covers new and certified pre-owned vehicles sold or leased in California with a manufacturer warranty.

How many repair attempts are needed before my Air Pure qualifies as a lemon?

California law generally presumes a vehicle is a lemon if the manufacturer has made two or more attempts to fix a defect that could cause death or serious injury, or four or more attempts for other substantial defects. Additionally, if your Air Pure has been out of service for repairs for more than 30 cumulative days, it may also qualify.

Does the Song-Beverly Act cover battery and drivetrain issues on the Air Pure?

Yes. Any defect covered by the manufacturer warranty, including the high-voltage battery pack, electric drivetrain, and onboard charging systems, falls under Song-Beverly protection. If Lucid cannot remedy the issue within a reasonable number of attempts, you have the right to pursue a lemon law claim.

Can I file a lemon law claim if I leased my Lucid Air Pure?

Absolutely. The Song-Beverly Act protects both buyers and lessees of new vehicles in California. If your leased Air Pure has recurring warranty defects that Lucid cannot fix, you may be entitled to a refund of lease payments made, plus any associated costs such as registration fees and incidental damages.
