Your Aventador may qualify if…

These are common indicators under California's Song-Beverly Act. An attorney reviews the full repair and warranty history before determining whether the firm can take a case.

You bought or leased the vehicle in California.

The problem arose while a manufacturer warranty covered the vehicle.

The dealer has had repeated repair opportunities, or the vehicle has spent significant time in the shop.

The defect continues and substantially affects the vehicle's use, value, or safety.

Why a warranty isn't enough

Your warranty vs. the lemon law

A warranty is a promise to attempt repairs. The lemon law is what protects you when those repairs never stick.

The manufacturer's warranty

  • The manufacturer decides which repairs to attempt.
  • It only obligates them to keep trying — not to actually fix the problem.
  • When the warranty ends, the manufacturer's repair obligation ends.

California's lemon law

  • Kicks in when repeated repairs don't fix a substantial defect.
  • Can require a refund, a replacement vehicle, or a cash settlement.
  • Your legal claim can survive after the warranty ends — if the defect was reported while it was in force.
  • When you win, the manufacturer pays your attorney fees — not you.

Common Lamborghini Aventador Problems

V12 engine hydraulic lifter tick that emerges within the first 5,000 miles and progressively worsens, requiring lifter replacement.
Independent shifting rod (ISR) single-clutch gearbox producing harsh upshifts and delayed downshifts during normal driving.
Carbon-fiber body panel clear coat orange peel and micro-cracking that appears within the first year of ownership.
Front axle lift system failing to raise the nose adequately, resulting in repeated undercarriage scraping on driveways and speed bumps.
HVAC system delivering insufficient cooling to the cabin due to undersized condenser design relative to the V12 engine heat output.

Your California Lemon Law Rights

Under California's Song-Beverly Consumer Warranty Act, if your Lamborghini Aventador has a substantial defect that cannot be repaired after a reasonable number of attempts, you may be entitled to:

  • Full refund of the purchase price
  • Replacement vehicle of comparable value
  • Cash compensation (cash-and-keep settlement)
  • Attorney's fees paid by the manufacturer

Lamborghini Aventador Lemon Law FAQ

My Aventador's V12 has a lifter tick the dealer cannot fix. What are my options?

Under the Song-Beverly Act, if the dealer has attempted to repair the lifter tick multiple times without success, you may be entitled to a full buyback or replacement vehicle. Consult a California Lemon Law attorney to review your repair history and assess your claim.

The Aventador is a limited-production supercar. Does this affect my Lemon Law rights?

No. The Song-Beverly Act applies equally to all new vehicles sold with a warranty in California, regardless of production volume or price. A limited-production vehicle is subject to the same warranty repair obligations as any mass-market car.

Can Lamborghini claim my Aventador's harsh shifting is a characteristic of the ISR gearbox?

The manufacturer may argue that some characteristics are inherent to the design, but a defect that substantially impairs use or value is still actionable. If the harshness exceeds what is disclosed or expected and the dealer cannot improve it, you may have a valid Lemon Law claim.

Will a Lemon Law buyback on my Aventador include taxes and registration fees?

Yes. Under the Song-Beverly Act, a full buyback includes the purchase price, sales tax, registration fees, and incidental costs such as towing and rental cars. The only deduction is a mileage offset for the period before the first repair attempt.
