If the top is failing well before its expected lifespan, you should seek a second opinion and consider filing a Lemon Law claim.
How does the Song-Beverly Act protect me if my convertible roof motor fails repeatedly?
The Song-Beverly Act requires MINI to repair any defect covered under the new vehicle warranty. If the convertible roof motor cannot be permanently fixed after a reasonable number of attempts, typically two for safety defects or four for other defects, you are entitled to demand a vehicle replacement or a full purchase price refund.
